I heard they stopped teaching cursive – is this true??
@klappyanne - NOT IN OUR DISTRICT!!!!! Nope nope nope…Nathaniel is CURRENTLY learning and practicing cursive…hence, I can’t get the shirt…HA…I mustn’t give a reason for him to doubt the wisdom and authority of his teachers (or else HE WILL). He’s such a strong willed boy!
@klappyanne - actually…come to think of it…if I got the shirt, it would probably just fuel a doubt of MY authority more than his teachers…maybe…but it’s not even worth it to find out!
Well, I hate to ask the obvious, but if some districts are discontinuing cursive, is it possible that it really IS never being used? ;)

As far as I know (from subbing in several districts) they all still teach cursive. Where did you hear that Klappy?

Give me one good reason why he SHOULD use cursive.
Umm… lots of people use cursive. On the rare ocassions that I write I use it and I see it used all the time with other people.
Why shouldn’t he use it? It’s much more elegant and classy looking than printing is.
Burbank penmanship is weird.
I use cursive all the time. But then again, I’m fancy.

Yes, I do. Not so much at work, but when I’m writing a letter or a card, I do. Or sometimes when I’m journaling.
