The Vasectomy Monologues, Act III (Encore)
Just kidding…just kidding…I’m not going to talk about my vasectomy ANYmore…except to tell you that I am probably 95% recovered—physically and mentally (I WAS TRAUMATIZED, PEOPLE!)
On a slightly related subject…
TODAY IS NOAH’S 5th BIRTHDAY!
I can hardly believe our precious boy is five years old!
Wow…five years ago we were living in San Diego in the Saugerties house, it was the beginning of our second year at Midway, the house prices were SKY high, and I was only 23. Oh, how the times have changed…
Noah is doing better than ever, and only keeps learning and growing every day. I hardly believe he has Autism–and although of course I can see it–most people can’t by now (unless they are experts in psychology/child development, obviously). We are looking forward to another great year with our beautiful two sons!
So what were you doing 5 years ago? Were you giving birth to your second child? (Christy?)

They grow up so fast.
Happy birthday, Noah!
What a blessing!
Happy Birthday to Noah!
You have truly been blessed with a wonderful family.
The years just rush by now. Before you know it he’ll be in high school!
Nine years ago this Saturday I was becoming a grandma for the first time.
I was getting ready to celebrate my birthday!
Man up! BJ was up the next day playing soccer!
Wow, five years ago? Well, I had a two-year old and a six-month old, and I thought THAT was hard! We had just moved to our second apartment in Brea and Steve was still youth pastor at Canyon Hills. I was 25.
Happy Birthday Noah!
Happy B-day to Noah!!!
Oh my gosh, 23! That sounds so young.
Happy birthday Noah! You are a precious, wonderful boy. And you have probably the most joyful smile in the entire world.
5 years ago I was 22… oh, I remember this very clearly. I had recently graduated from college, and I had just been hired on as a temp in the Registrar’s Office, essentially doing the same job that I had done as a student worker, and I was unhappy and had no direction and felt very, VERY lonely. And now 5 years later I love my life (not because it’s perfect by any means, but because a) I choose to love it, and ii) I have awesome AWESOME friends, and c) I get to do so many fun things, and 4) GOD BLESSES ME DAILY!!)
I’m going to be late for Noah’s party. See you soon!
This little boy figured out how to capture sunshine in his smile. Happy Birthday, Noah, and congratulations to you.
Happy Birthday to your little sweetheart! He is truly a gift from heaven.
Happy birthday, Noah!! He’s sooooooo cute
5 years ago I was starting up my junior year at APU and either getting ready for my very first UCO concert ever (or perhaps it had already passed by now, but I was way excited, I remember). Little did I know I was just a month away from getting engaged!
Thanks for sparing us the gruesome details. I had already thrown-up in my mouth a little.
@Deblet1983 - the doctor must not have done it right on him then…
@Jeff Bumgardner - you just wait for your turn.
YOU JUST WAIT!!!!!
Talking about it is very cathartic I’m sure!
Happy birthday Noah! God is good!
5 years ago, I was 35, and gave birth to my son, Evan, on June 9. In September, Mom was visiting from Hawaii and helping around the house as I finally started to feel like myself again. We were living in Yorba Linda and attending Yorba Linda Friends Church when the church was in the middle of a serious battle (Split).
Thanks for the encouragement you left on my Xanga. I’ve tried applying to a number of jobs at APU…Unfortunately, HR doesn’t really seem interested in me. I know that there isn’t much anyone can do or say to make things better, but knowing that there are people out there praying for me and my situation is helpful. So thank you.
I do remember you. You left a couple of comments for me….a long time ago.
You probably stopped reading because I stopped writing.
Anyway, it’s good to see you around again.
Thanks.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY B-NOAH!!!! Remember when we all use to call him that? What a beautiful and brillient young man he is becoming. I just want to kiss his face off!!
