The word from the American Idol website is that they’ve received thousands of songs to review for the songwriting competition. This is good odds; at least it wasn’t TENS of thousands or HUNDREDS of thousands. So we will wait and see what happens next.Voting for the top 20 songs starts May 2nd, which means that they’ll be reaching the people they pick for the TOP 20 songs in the next week or so because everyone they pick for Top 20 has to sign a publishing deal (and why wouldn’t they?) but that takes a little bit of time. So I guess we’ll know in the next week or so whether or not they choose one of our songs. Very exciting!
And FINALLY…goodbye Sanjaya. This is not especially good for me points-wise in our little game…I did not pick him to go or to be in the bottom 3 this week. BUt he sure cried like a baby through his whole video re-cap. That was pretty hilarious.
All in all, it was a little shocking to see the top and bottom people this week. I still love Melinda Doolittle. She’s the best!LOST was awesome. I love the last half of this season. Where did Locke go?
Oh-and did you HEAR Sawyer mention Bernard when he talked about the mix-tape he gave Kate? Interesting…

I’m having a hard time choosing between Jordin & Melinda, but I think Jordin would be more marketable. Love ‘em both, though!
The previews show that Locke will be back. And I thought the Bernard reference was awesome, too – that’s all the writers needed to do to show they’re still somewhere around there. I thought it was awesome that the mix tape was a Phil Collins best of album – I’m ashamed to admit I probably know every song by heart.
From what Jenn tells me, (she’s the one who hangs out at work reading Ask Ausiello and Kristin from E! Online…) the producers have stated that Rose and Bernard are, indeed still on the island. I guess the problem is that the actors are involved with other stuff right now, and they sort of come as a package deal, so until both of them are available at the same time, we won’t be seeing much of them. Correct me if I’m wrong, Jenn!
Oh, and I think I’ll register online to vote for your song. Am I a good friend or what?

How weird, I totally commented yesterday, and it’s not here!! So now to quote Carol, instead of saying yesterday like was originally intended, yeah, Rose and Bernard are fine. Damon and Carlton (the producers who do the kickass podcast) have said they just haven’t been able to get the actors, they’ve got other jobs going on. They heard about the theory about Nikki and Paolo taking over their spot on the plan because Desmond changed the timeline and they cracked up. Rose and Bernard are fine, the actors are just busy.
And Locke will come back for sure!!! He’s just staying with the Others because they have his dad and he needs to push him out an 8 story window!!!! (good thing it wasn’t a 15, 16, 23, or 42 story window, huh? Though 4 would have been fine)
