  • Dangerous Stuff

I've been thinking about the rise of energy drinks like Monster, Rockstar, and the like.  They are everywhere, and they are in gigantic doses, not just the normal 12 oz soda can size--these suckers are huge! I've seen many teenagers drinking these things like they are water, and they're extremely bad for you. It scares me to think about what will happen in the next 5 years with these drinks.
    Check out this article.

  • I have never tried one of those drinks, but I know they have tons of suger in them...guess I did't realize they had so much caffinee.  I will stick with my 2 cups of coffee.  My kids don't drink these, at least, I don't think they do.  Thanks for the article.

  • I think the most shocking part of it was that if the kid who had been drinking them for 2 years stopped cold turkey--HE'D DIE!! That was crazy...

  • They're like drugs.  I've only had sips of a couple of them at 7-11 conventions, but I don't really have a need or desire for them.  The only unnatural thing I like to put in my body is snack food.  :o )  No caffeinated coffee, no soda, no energy drinks.  It is scary how kids are putting these things away - and I'm talking about kids 8, 9, 10 years old.  I've seen it myself.

  • I already heard about RJ a few weeks back.

And Clay is gay. It's confirmed pretty much by everything except his direct acknowledgement.

And yes, you can be a Christian and still be gay. Just like you can be a Christian and still be an alcoholic or a drug addict. Grace covers all of that - that's what grace is. Though you probably can't be a good Christian and live that lifestyle actively, but that's a separate question.

  • ^^Did you post all that on her site too?

  • I like Red Bulls. Moderation is the key in EVERYTHING, even (ahem, ahem) high octane coffee drinks!

  • ^^I know-seriously--but at least I don't have CHEST PAINS if I don't have a cup of coffee!!!!

  • I would never drink something called MONSTER or RED BULL.  It's a girl thing for me so lukily they haven't come out with these drinks and named them Pink Slippers or Luscious Lavendar.  Now, that I read the article, I will be more than cautious with these beverages. Thanks for the info.

  • I had an instructor in a class that I took recently who drank three to four energy drinks a day - all different kinds - including Red Bull and Monster.  One day he forgot to bring them, he was crashing hard.  While he was teaching, he was leaning really heavily on the podium, almost falling asleep.  He had been so used to pumping his body so full of junk that he wasn't functioning well.  He was also mispronouncing words like elasticity and reconciliation.  It hurt that he was falling asleep teaching the class because it was on supply and budgets.  Ouch.

  • ^^I'm telling you! This stuff is NOT GOOD!!!!!!!

  • I will write on this page that Mike, I am suprised you used the word "good Christian". Come on now- so he's a Christian but not a "good" Christian. Please. Let's leave that phrase behind- some people use it to get all crazy about works.

  • And I think Clay is gay too.

  • ^^I guess we'll have to wait and see. I'm not convinced.

  • I used "good" Christian because I didn't feel like typing out a long comment - we should all know I didn't mean it in the way that you mean here. I simply meant a person who is a Christian but not at the time living in a manner that is pleasing to his Lord - something I know I am guilty of myself quite often.

  • Why would anyone drink that stuff? It tastes disgusting. Can't they just have a salad or something?

    I agree with Mike wholeheartedly.
