EDIT ADD2:
Just finished my first homework assignment at about 2AM Saturday morning...it's not that great...but it's there, and that is a stretch...we'll see how it all goes next Thursday...
Oh, and Heidi took the spoiler off her blog. Good girl....it's OK to read again...
_____________________EDIT ADD:
Don't read Heidi's blog. She just gave a HUGE spoiler for THE OFFICE. Bad Heidi. Bad girl.
---------------------------------Wow
Had my job interview yesterday morning. The first part was great, but the second part was pretty darn hard. Hard questions, some I was not necessarily expecting! I won't know how I did until the end of next week. Yikes! That means I'm still not working...
Had my first class last night at CSULA. It was great! The guy teaching it was a freelance arranger and orchestrator and had done work for Nike and a bunch of other things. It was a good class, although four hours is a bit long for ANY class.
So my first assignment is to write :60 of piano music--original piano music. Oh that is so easy, you say. No--it's not. I actually told the guy at the beginning when we were introducing ourselves, "I don't want to be a composer or anything, I don't like composing. I'd rather just arrange and orchestrate, or do something like that. I don't feel composition is my gift..." and of course we are composing...So on the way home I was thinking, "Man, this is really going to stretch me"
-which is exactly why I'm here.Praise the Lord.

Not that I have that many. Sorry to hear about the smokers.....How are the boys? Besides the smokers, how do you like your new place? Is Nathainel riding his bike? How is Christy? Is there a Starbucks by you house? Details man...I need details!!! Missing you guys toooo much! (she said in her best Nathianel voice)
P.S. So how about changing you text color to white so us old folks can read it? I'm just sayin-is-all (she said in her best Mel voice)
I'M SORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll call you later, ok? I want to hear about it.
I'm glad you like school.
Welcome back to the wonderful world of procrastinating on homework by posting on Xanga!!!!
My credential classes were 4 hours 45 minutes long. In other words, stop your whining Semsen.
Ok ok ok ok ok... I took the "spoiler" out. I just ASSUMED that since y'all are so into comedy, you would have seen the BBC version already.
Four hour classes... welcome to the wonderful world of grad school. I remember thinking when Ule was doing his, "Is he coming back tonight??" Good luck on your job interview. We've been praying for you every single morning. btw, has the smoking neighbor situation been remedied yet?
Hey, I've been praying for you guys, too. I hate waiting to find out about jobs.
I've been meaning to call you... soon and very soon. Prob. tomorrow.
Here's an idea: pick some really obscure tune out of an old hymnal, then do a really off-the-wall "arrangement" of it. Change the key, change the accidentals, and change the harmonic rhythm. Then, once you've got things in place, change up the melody a bit, and it's all original. I find that creating a structure for yourself first may be the way to go, even if you destroy it later.
Hello from Cambodia...glad to know everything went well and you all are safely up in LA
Well, you can rest assure that if you don't get that job it's because God has something way better for you. It feels weird to finally be finishing 2 years of studies. I think the finishing phase feels more weird than did the beginning phase did!
did Val try to impersonate me? wierd.......
also...you're going to turn that Diamond Song IN?!?! wow...you've got guts. just kidding. I liked it. Let's see what the "i-just-wanna-write-drum-tracks-and-synth-pads-for-my-rock-band" guy turns in...
