  • Yes, the cat is out of the bag. We’re moving to Los Angeles on Dec 31st. I told the choir last night, so it’s officially public. Although, it sure seemed like everyone already knew before that, and WE didn’t tell anybody…hmmm….no, actually, there were several people that didn’t know and we’re pretty shocked. That was the hard part-all the crying and the sorrow. Christy and I are very much people pleasers, so it’s tough to dissapoint people. This time we have to be God-pleasers, though, not people-pleasers, it’s absoulutely mandatory we follow God’s path on this one. So you guys can be praying for us that we follow Him.
We will truly miss Midway like none other. The people here have changed our lives, and we will never forget you…(that sounds pretty dramatic now that I read it back, but what can I say?).

So I’m sure people have thought about dropping out of the music program at Midway after we leave, and to them I say “Poopoo on you!”. You aren’t serving me, you are serving the Lord! Here’s the scripture I read last night to the choir right before I told them we’re leaving…(Hebrews 12:1-3)
    ——-
1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
    ——-

And I really emphasized LET US FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS and CONSIDER HIM…SO THAT YOU WILL NOT GROW WEARY AND LOSE HEART. Hopefully people wlll understand and not bail on choir/orchestra/worship team just beacuse I leave. We’re all serving the Lord together guys. If you stop serving Him because I leave, what does that say about what me? Hopefully I’ve taught you guys that this isn’t about me, it’s all about God. Continue to serve Him no matter where I am…please!

A shout out to Mike for standing up for me in choir last night. Not that I was being bullied or anything, but Mike just blurts out something to the effect of “There is WAY too much talking going on here and it’s TOTALLY disrespectful to Daniel…” Way to go, Mike! Thanks man! Props to you for being pissed off on my account! I appreciate it!

The Office was interrupted 2x by stupid election updates…argh. One of them was about 10 minutes long…So sad…

  • I actually said a lot more than that. But the rest of it was confused and a bit of a blur, because I couldn’t believe I said “Daniel” instead of “Dan” and I was trying to figure out where that came from in my head…

  • Where in LA are you moving to???  It’s kind of a large place….  ;)

  • Welcome back to LA!!!!  Now you just have to convince Mike to move up here too.  :)

  • Ya, Props go out to Mike….thanks man!  Like I said before, I am excited for both your family and the Midway family….I love to see God moving in the lives of his people!

Seriously, we need a NERTZ NIGHT!! =)  Big Party…YA!!!!!!

  • How dare they interrupt the office!!!! Stupid people!!!!!!! I was needing something to make me laugh!

Mega e- props to Mike!!!! I was getting tired of all the ssshhhhhhhhhhhing! Something had to be said!

  • Well, you don’t have to worry about me dropping out of choir because I’m already a total *flake*. :) hehe. But really, when I am ready to truly come back (which I’m pretty sure will be during 2006) you and Christy will be gone. *sniff* *sniff*. You’re going to keep your blog after you go, right????

  • Sounds like you had a pretty wild birthday.  You and Christy will truly be missed, but as I think about your upcoming journey, I think about the promise of the Lord; “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.  Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.”  Proverbs 3: 5-7.
