Fall, Schmall
Fall is a weird time, especially this Fall. I can’t put my finger on it, but I think it has to do with the fact that it rained all day Tuesday and then on Thursday it was 95 degrees. The weather has been really disappointing.
Or maybe it has to do with the fact that I don’t really like Halloween.
Or maybe it has to do with the fact that Christmas is almost here…which means lots of rehearsals and performances and all kinds of stuff to do–and THEN–being the horrible gift-givers that Christy and I are–finally purchasing a meager amount of Christmas presents and cards on…say…oh…the 26th…and then carrying the guilt of being such inconsiderate, unloving Holiday folks…
But today during orchestra practice we played a piece that felt REALLY Christmasy, and I got in the spirit of things for a moment…and it felt joyous.
But Christmas feels more like Winter than Fall, and I like Winter.
Not Fall.
Fall is dead to me.

I don’t like Fall either. There’s something very depressing about all the trees dying, the weird Halloween decorations in all the stores making goblin sounds at you, and the sun starting to set earlier in the day.
Bring on Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Booooo, Eeyore. Fall is the BEST season of all. You will know why in TWO DAYS!!!!!!
@traviscottrell - as long as it doesn’t still feel like summer, I’m sure I will be happy. BRING ON THE COLD.
I mean, I DO like jackets…
Kristy-
Thanksgiving IS fall- and one of the reasons I love fall!
@csemsen - There are 4 carved and completely rotten pumpkins sitting outside my studio surrounded by approx 1.2 billion fruit flies having a heyday (no doubt multiplying by the thousands) filled with mold and gunk. Blech.
I bet there are lots of spiders in those rotten pumpkins.
You know when I saw those carved pumpkins, I thought, I sure hope those are store bought! Or else there is going to be fur growing in them pretty soon. Just a word of advise. Get rid of them before they ‘melt’. Trust me! It gets yuckie!

I LOVE FALL!! I put applecider with sliced oranges poked with cloves, along with cinnimon sticks in a pot on the stove and just let it simmer….yummy smells! It FILLS the whole house! Then pour some in a cup, add a little whip cream, stir it with a cinnimon stick and waa laa, I am in the BEST mood ever. Of couse it needs to either be night time or a nice cloudy day. Either way, it keeps Fall alive and well in the Parra household. Apple pie doesn’t hurt either! lol
Oh and I love @marshallismyalias comments…they make me giggle!
Yay me!
