Nathaniel’s 2009 Birthday Cake #1
Nathaniel is a lucky dude. Since we have two different sets of friends–one in Burbank, and one in San Diego–he gets TWO parties (taking place this Saturday and the next).
Every year I make Nathaniel’s birthday cake.
Some years it is marvelous, others…well…it usually tastes good.Here is what this year’s cake is SUPPOSED to look like:
And here is what I made, with the limited amount of food coloring I had, and limited tools:
Yeah, baby.

Haha!
That is a pretty decent looking cake. Your son is a lucky guy to have a daddy willing to bake him a cake.
Have you seen the site http://www.cakewrecks.com?
@Karen - HA! I have NOT! That’s funny stuff…almost as funny as http://www.awkwardfamilyphotos.com
anyway-thanks.
Not too shabby!! What sort of “limited tools” do you have? I’m lucky that my mom has frosting bags with bunches of different tips so I can usually pull off some pretty good cakes. I’ve made carebears and my little ponies that turned out looking pretty much like the picture!!! It’s handy to have the proper tools…might want to invest in them!
Sweet!
Dude, I didn’t know you make your son’s b-day cakes! Nice goin’.
ummmm
