  • STAR TREK

    spock

It’s true that I’m a little bit biased when it comes to Star Trek.

And yes, it’s true that I’m completely predisposed to love this movie. Everyone is waiting for this review not because you all really want to know what I think about the film, but because you want to be able to poke at me and further prove your theory that I always like the movies I go see…well, you’re wrong…remember, I only TALK about the ones I like…

    But here’s the deal.

This movie is freaking AMAZING. I don’t care if you have ever seen an episode of Star Trek, or not. YOU WILL LOVE THIS FILM. It’s perfect storytelling; it has majestic big-budget effects and on-screen wonderment. It has a great plot with actors that are taking on characters that have previously only been played by ONE other cast…and these new actors absolutely ROCK IT.

If you’ve been a fan of Star Trek since the beginning (like my parents), or you’re a Star Trek newbie (like Jack Cottrell), you’re gonna love it. You’re gonna absolutely love it.

    Money back guarantee.

P.S. Karl Urban steals the show with his incredible McCoy.  DeForest Kelly is somewhere smiling…

  • Can’t wait to see it!  You didn’t watch TOS when it came out?  I’m starting to feel old…

  • @Monastro - No, but my parents joined one of those VHS clubs in the 80′s…maybe it was Columbia House? And bought every single video from TOS for $19.95 each plus shipping and handling…hahaha

I watched most of them, but the movies (Wrath of Khan, Undiscovered Country)–I watched all of those for SURE.

    Plus, Next Generation, etc…etc…

  • I can’t get over how much I loved that movie. I want to see it again.

I’m putting it on my list of top 5 movies I’ve seen in the last 5 years. For reals.

  • OK, Royce and I saw it last night, and loved it!  I TOTALLY agree about Karl Urban’s McCoy, he has those classic McCoy rants down pat.  Loved it.  I do, however, have one bone to pick about the sub-plots <>.  There was never any Spock-Uhura relationship ever in TOS!  Spock avoided all females except for Pon Far (sp?).  OK, so maybe later in his life he was more emotionally controlled, or whatever, and I suppose this gives his character somewhere to go, but I wasn’t happy about it.  I felt it was totally unnecessary.

  • Karl stole the show in his few scenes in LOTR too – I think he’s a fabulous actor, and was so pleased to hear he got this gig.  How was Eric Bana’s performance?   His makeup on the previews creeps me out – can’t wait to see it!
