  • My Son Has Autism

Today Noah goes to a PSYCH class at a college nearby as an example of a real-live kid with autism! Wahoo…

However, our case director asked us if we could bring some video of when he was younger, because the class probably wouldn’t believe he actually has it. Hm. Encouraging…
So I went back into some early footage of Noah…and I was FLOORED at how he behaved…I mean…he has come SO far in the past 3-4 years. It was astonishing to watch the old video tapes. I was emotional.
And of course I am incredibly thankful for all that have helped us along the way…and thankful for how well Noah has done.
He’s probably going to a regular 1st grade classroom with little to no assistance.

    His progress is just phenomenal.

I compiled a video to show his actions and behaviors at different points in his life, up to as recent as a year ago.
This video will probably mean the most to those of you that see and know Noah now…

  • That’s amazing. he’s come so far – it’s remarkable to compare, and it’s an awesome journey. God is good.

  • I seriously can’t even remember the kid he used to be because he’s SO different now, so it’s amazing to look at this video and see his growth. Seriously, I’m in awe. I love that kid to pieces.

  • Man…I love that. God has been so good to that little boy. And God bless you both for being such loving and caring parents. Not everyone would go to the lengths you have to ensure that Noah would even have the opportunity to be where he is now. Praise the Lord for being able to see the fruits of you labors!

  • @MikeknaJ - @marshallismyalias - @lksee - Can you imagine if we had done nothing, and he was still throwing tantrums like he did at about 1:30 in the video? I can’t even IMAGINE…

  • WWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW…That’s incredible…..

  • Noah’s transformation speaks of the wonder of our Lord. What a testimony to prayer and to His power, bringing people into your life who could give Noah the care he needs at exactly the right times. His strength as he lead you and Christy through battles and carried you. Thank you for your transparency so we can see Christ working in and through you. God bless you and your family forever.

  • I’ve noticed how you speak to and stimulate your kids, and more importantly how you hold and love them. I think that’s huge in the development of ANY child. The Lovaas program, your loving care, and the goodness of God have all surely played a part. Congratulations on Noah’s progress. I would never guess he has even a shadow of autism if I didn’t know any better.

  • I’ve been away from xanga because I was overwhelmed with my studies in CAPS program – HDEV but I decided to come by and roam around my subscriptions and happened upon your update.  Even though, I never met your son before his diagnosis, I see from the video that the Lovaas program has helped.  Your story is just an example as to why I have decided to specialize in working with children diagnosed with Autism.  I want to be apart of helping a child, like your son, who had tantrums because he could not communicate with others and learn how to control his tantrums and be able to fully construct a sentence and one day be able to tell his parents “I Love You”….may God bless you and your beautiful family.
