    Happy Thanksgiving!

We saw Enchanted last night–it was totally hilarious. I highly recommend you take the family to see it. I loved it.

    Mike says:

It was hilarious. They took the traditional (classic) Disney
formula and completely turned it on its ear, to delightful results.
Every cliche in the book was spoofed, and they mocked themselves
mercilessly, but they still kept the right tone. Little girls will love
it because they have a new Disney princess to adore – and a more
intelligent one, at that (“thinking?!?”). Adults will love it because
the parody is dead on and the jokes hit their target 90% of the time. I
    loved it.

Not only that–but they used lots of actors and actresses that had previously voiced main characters in the classic Disney animated films (and when I say classic, I don’t mean “Cinerella”-classic, I mean “The Little Mermaid”-classic…just a quick distinction…). Ariel was a big part, and also the chicks that voiced Pocahontas and Belle were in the film. Disney is pretty great at throwing stuff in like that, and this film was no exception. It was just great to laugh at Disney laughing at themselves. I love it when people are big enough to make fun of themselves, because THAT, my friends, is funny…

All that to say–it was amazing…PROPS to Disney.
Go see Enchanted. Perfect holiday movie.

    I might get the soundtrack…

  • I think I might get the sound track too!  I need to go back with just Will…had to take kids to the bathroom…just so I can see it all the way through!!  What FUN!!

  • We saw Enchanted and LOVED it!!! It was GREAT!  Hey, are you going to watch the new Battlestar Galactica movie tonight?  Tom read that you can’t just take everything in watching it one time so he is recording it.

  • We went to the premiere a couple weeks ago & loved it, too.  Meant to blog about it, but there never seems to be time.  Did you see August Rush yet?  Not for kids, mind you, but the music is wonderful!  Other things bugged me, but the music was the heart of the movie.
