I love my new job as Associate Registrar.

Remember that balance thing? Gone...for a day or two. I received a call on Tuesday night (about 10PM) from a classmate at CSULA that had some work to pass off to me. Evidently she has been working for a guy that writes for Disney--and has for twenty years. He needed demos of some potential songs for their upcoming Dalmations sequel (straight to DVD) with a male voice. So last night I sequenced and recorded my voice on 4 tunes that the producers and directors of this movie listened to today. It was great. Great working with this contact--great experience--great fun. I even recruited a friend over who had the appropriate equipment for recording my vocals.
The Disney guy has already talked to me about doing other work for him. He said that the producers will pick 2 or 3 of these songs to be in the movie and at that point he would be contracted to write the full arrangements. NICE.
I love it that I was able to do this all in one night and by the deadline that they imposed. That's the only way to survive in this business! You must be able to make the deadline!
I hope to work for this person again...

Lots of stuff to talk about later when I have time...

  • ...an amazing maniac. NICE! that's a cool contact.
So I've been hoping to play more in SD, and I ran into an old contact from when I started playing for theatre shows in high school (and I SUCKED!), anyway he rememnbered me, and then called me last night to say there is "an opening" for a celeste player in this year's production of "The Nutcracker". I was like, "what's a celeste?" HAHAHHA! anyway, I might do it. fun, huh? So it's exactly like your story....only not at all! cause you know what you're doing and.....I don't. :)

  • RYC: you don't want me in choir Daniel....hahhaah, that is funny!
