  • What is up?

EDIT ADD: People are smashing the iPhones to see what is inside of them. PLEASE–spare the poor iPhone and give it to ME!

Good day of music today at church. I was very frustrated by our rehearsal on Thursday night, but I think the chaos in that rehearsal was due to many factors out of my control, including broken A/C in the rehearsal space. Today was great, though–an amazing difference that is inexplicable. The second service band was HOT and tighter than normal. We had some wonderful moments of worship–like, the stuff that doesn’t happen but once or twice in a year. Praise the Lord.

The concert tonight was also great. Nathaniel even sang a solo and did a fabulous job. Thanks to all who participated!

Grease just came on cable–somewhere in the middle. The song “Summer Lovin’” just started. Wow, this is weird. John Travolta looks really strange and this whole movie looks kind of silly. Dudes dancing around singing this song is just ridiculous. Crazy.

I’ve been Tivo-ing Conan O’Brien lately. I think he’s super funny. He’s in some reruns right now, but I still like it.

I’m digging Seinfeld Season 8 special features right now, and RATATOUILLE was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Mike talks a lot about it here, and I agree with everything except his ranking of Pixar films. Here’s my ranking of the Pixar films:

    1) The Incredibles
    2) Toy Story & Toy Story 2 (a tie)
    3) Finding Nemo
    4) Ratatouille
    5) Monster’s Inc.
    6) Cars (my least favorite)
    7) A Bug’s Life (never saw it, you know why–that stupid 4-D experience at Disney’s California Adventure made me crap my pants as an adult)

  • As far as Pixar, I dunno- I’d say

    1) The Incredibles
    2) Toy Story 1 & 2
    3) Monsters, Inc.
    4) Finding Nemo
    5) Cars
    6) A Bug’s Life

and Rata-tatooine is yet to be rate-able.

Monsters, Inc. can occasionally get me a little misty… Nemo is certainly clever, and probably more timeless, but a little more formulaic. Gotta admit, Nemo had great music.

so for (7) are you saying you had a Saul Ptevens experience?

  • Grease is one of the few musicals that I hate.

    Oops I Crapped My Pants.

Music and worship was totally fun today. :)

  • Heidi stole my SNL reference.

  • all I’m saying is that the “Bug’s Life” 4-D experience thingy at D-land CA Adventure is my version of personal hell. If I were going to hell (which I’m so very glad I’m not) THAT is what it would be like. Either that or the one scene from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom when they go into that small room where the bugs are crawling all over you. Either one–it’s the same thing…

  • No, you’re totally right, Daniel. It is hell. When I went to that Bug’s Life thing I literally had to cover my eyes, hang on to my roommate, and rock back and forth in the fetal position. I HATE bugs with a passion, but I am a girl, so my hatred for bugs is less… noticeable than yours. :) Meaning it’s ok when I scream like a girl when there is a spider in my office.

I just woke up from a dream where you could buy toilets that played different popular songs when you sat down on them in public restrooms. I was either at APU or at my old high school and they had just installed the Kelly Clarkson toilet. It played “Since U Been Gone”. Weird.

  • 1. Incredibles
    2. Toy Story
    3. Monsters
    4. Ratat-whatever
    5. Cars
    6. Nemo

  • ^^You like CARS better than NEMO!?!??!!?! YOU”RE CRAZY! I mean, Ellen aLONE in that movie…

  • I did really like cars.

  • Mine. Mine. (Nemo)

  • That’s cool. I’ll go see it myself tommorow then.

  • ^^DARN YOU!
CURRRRRRRSE YOOOUUUUUUU! (phantom of the opera)

  • I enjoy Grease.  Your opinion is wrong, and so are you.

  • >>>I enjoy Grease.
Jon Mann. That is NOT something I ever expected to hear from you. EVER.

  • I like Grease too- it’s a classic. Go Jonathan!

  • Mine? Mine? Mine? Mine?

  • I liked Grease, too.  Is this the first time you’ve seen it, Daniel?  Or is John Travolta dancing just striking you as strange now?

  • ^^^First time I had ever seen any of it.

Also-scotlas put The Sound of Music DVD on my desk today…I guess it was a hint…

  • I’m surprised people overlook the theme of Grease so often – conform to peer pressure, and you’ll get what you want.  I don’t like Grease.

And it’s a tie between Nemo and Incredibles – they’re both so different, can’t choose.
