  • It’s been a while since I’ve blogged. So much has been happening and I guess I haven’t had anything huge to say. But lucky you-here I am!!

The cat is out of the bag among my co-workers. I applied for a promotion in my office. I hadn’t really told anyone up to this point (except for a few people), but I had to mention it at a meeting recently where we were talking about recent risks we took. This would move me from a peon to a management position, and would really fit my skills-but we’ll see what my boss thinks! Be praying please-this would be a really good thing for our family as well.

Evan Almighty was very funny, albeit more geared towards “family fun” than Bruce Almighty. It had a great message though, and is worth watching just for Steve Carell. I recommend!

Live Free or Die Hard starts Wednesday. In order to get Christy ready for this (since we’ll go to the movies to see whatever is out now that we found a theater that offers top-notch childcare) we’re watching all of the first three movies. We watched Die Hard on Saturday night. This was the first time I had seen it since I watched it originally a good fifteen years ago. I was astounded at how tame it was compared to what I remember from my first viewing; I was also suprised at how little I remembered. It was great. And it was no less or more violent than any episode of 24–so Christy was cool. Die Harder tonight…

Mike Cathey is auditioning/interviewing at Midway this week. I hope everything works out! It would be phenomenal if he took the job, for him and for the church. What a great musician Mike is…hope all you San Diegoans are having fun!

I’m back at the gym running. Pretty much just running. I enjoy the treadmill now because it keeps track of how far I’ve gone and for how long (and so on…). It helps me stay motivated. I’m also just going in gym clothes, running, and coming home to shower and get ready for work. I think I like that better than trying to get ready there–it’s much less work.

Speaking of work…I gotta get back to it!

  • What happened to Die Harder last night?

  • ^^Christy fell asleep…that’s what I get for leaving her out there alone for 30 minutes!

  • Hey, I’ll be praying that things work for that promotion!!! :)

  • I agree with you on Evan Almighty, fun, cute movie! Good luck on the promotion!

  • Go Mike! My sister’s friends in college tried to get her and Mike together for a while. They figured it’d be awesome if they got married so she could be Kathy Cathey…. Yeah, it never took…

  • Mike Cathey… doesn’t Christy know him well? ;)

  • I thought it was “San Diegans.” Oh well. Stay classy, world! and thanks for stopping by.

Man, we’ve got to get you on some real road and real hills.

  • ^^ I think it’s San Diegoites after all. Weirdly enough, I used to be vehemently opposed to treadmills. I don’t know what happened…

  • forevah, forevah, forevah, foreeevaaaaaaaa^aaaaah…..
not playing tonight. can’t. But I think I’m playing for church tomorrow night. weird. I never did that even when you were around. should be fun!

  • Hey, Daniel…thanks for the add on my blog. Doesn’t our human skins maintain well for 19 years of marriage. We don’t look a day over 19 years old, hah! We will be praying for the job. Please pray for us as our escrow fell through last Monday and we can’t move to Maine until it sells. In the meantime, Dave is looking for temporary work.

What theater has childcare? Wow, that’s a thought towards a business venture. Is Die Hard the first of the series? It’s been so long I can’t recall. If it is I remember seeing a gas station with prices around $0.80 in that movie. Ah, the 80s! I remember them well.

Keep the blogs coming. Enjoy reading them!

  • ^^Harkins Theater in Chino Hills. It’s totally worth it.

  • Visual Voicemail? Sweet.

  • Kenny and I just LOVED Evan Almight.  I think that guy is my favorite actor.  He really is good.  It was four thumbs up for us!

Oh – and as far as the video, I did copy it to my hard drive but I don’t think the DVDRW is a DVDRW or else my husband didn’t fully load the software….I’ll try it on somebody else’s computer……  :) thanks.

  • BTW Still wondering if your blog picture is actually your mug shot…..

  • Hooray for Mike Carey; prayers going up for the promotion; and hooray for a movie theater that makes allowance for family quality time outside of the home. :o ) !!!
