  • Oh Great…

    Dear LOST,
I stayed up late for you. Really late. I was tired from several nights of less-than-normal sleep and ready to go to bed at like 9:45PM, but I stayed up for you. I looked at my to-do list, I synced my calendars, I got as prepared as I could for the days to come…and I waited for you to come. I made coffee (mostly for Christy), I finished watching SNL from last week, and probably some other meaningless TV while I waited, patiently…and guess what? YOU SUCKED. I was BORED and uninterested…and you know what your “big reveal” was at the end? Something I have known SINCE THE FIRST TIME I SAW THAT GIRL!
WOW…I have to be honest, LOST, there was nothing in that episode to merit it’s existence at all. I frankly am ashamed of you and for you, especially in light of your recent poor ratings–ratings that aren’t getting any better, I might add.
You better shape up, soon–or I’m out.
    Sincerely
    -Mr. Eko

    —————————————

Well, that about sums it up. Ugh. Did LOST jump the shark when Mr. Eko died? After thinking about it, that’s the point I come back to where it seems to go all downhill from there…
And perhaps I’m being more harsh and demanding of my entertainment since I don’t have all night to lie around watching TV, but I don’t think I’m out of line here.
Now that I’m off American Idol (don’t miss it one bit, btw), Studio 60 is possibly never coming back, and LOST is disappointing me, I don’t have much left…
Heroes rocks. At least I have that…and The Office.

That said, on to other things. San Diego rocks. By no means do I feel like we’re supposed to go back there right now (so stop getting your hopes up :) but the Tuesdays we have been down there with the choir and worship team at Midway have been powerful. The music is awesome, the choir has really shaped up and learned this stuff FAST, and I have a feeling that now the orchestra and band are going to join us, it’s only going to get better.
I really look forward to Tuesdays…

    So…IT’S MARCH 1st!!! GEEZ!!!
That really freaked me out yesterday when I got my paycheck from APU–especially since it was the 28th. I was like, Oh my goodness…it’s March. That means two more months until May (Concordia Gala) and I have so much to do. It means one more month (5 weeks, really) until Easter, and I have so much to do…it means that on the 13th I will have my one-year anniversary of working at APU, and I think Heidi gets a bonus for that, or something…
Wow. It really blew my mind yesterday, that’s all. March 1st (shaking my head)

Tonight starts the new and improved Worship Choir at Christ-First. We have been promoting and recruiting for this day for a long time, and there are A LOT of folks that are going to join this group that we know of–especially since it only lasts until Palm Sunday. I’m really excited, and a tiny bit scared. It’s my goal that everyone that is there for the first time feels welcome and like they are on the same playing field as those that have been there for a long time. I’m praying that we exude that feeling and embrace those that are taking a risk by trying something new.

Life is full–and thank God for my little list that I make every day, it is really helping me focus and accomplish a lot.

  • Sorry, but Lost was enjoyable. It doesn’t have to delve into its mythology every time for it to be interesting and i enjoyed the levity of this week’s episode a lot.

  • ^^It was boring. I’m not saying it has to be all mythological every single episode–it was just plain boring.

  • I enjoyed Lost too. Sorry. It was nice to see some back story on Hurley and see someone looking for hope. It may also be that I’m not looking forward to any big reveals anymore, b/c they haven’t had one in forever. So no, to your jumping the shark theory.

And, a long time recruiting for you Praise Choir for tonight? Define long time.

  • >>>Define long time.

Well, like, all my life basically…
    or maybe a month.

  • I enjoyed it too- even though I was like- um, did they think we didn’t know the daughter was hers? Didn’t we realize that in season 1?

  • ^^Seriously. So lame.

  • It wasn’t boring.

    You’re boring.

  • ^^Your face is boring.

  • Your butt face is boring.

  • Boring maybe..Butt face boring no!

  • I was fast asleep when LOST came on…I’ll have to play catch up.  Hey, can’t I get it on iTunes or something?

    >>so stop getting your hopes up<<  My hopes are not up, just enjoying the time.  It is really NICE to have you and Christy here on Tuesdays.

  • ^^I know–but SOME people are making comments…heeheehee!!

  • hey, wait, I thought LOST was on Thursdays.  Did it change just this week or am I just totally lost!!

  • ^^^It’s on Wednesdays dude. 10PM

  • ^^duh…well like I said on my blog I was in a BIG funk Wednesday!  Thursday is Survivor…YES!!! I still like that show!

  • I could see where I might not miss AI – if I hadn’t started watching it at all.  But both shows were so good this week!  And now I’m hooked for the year, dang it.  Maybe next year I just won’t watch it at all.  I think I’ve said that before, but I should really stick to it, because life is just too busy to spend that many hours watching TV.  I do have to say that taping the show & then watching JUST the performances helps alot, though.  :o )

  • ^^I KNOW!! IT takes SUCH a big chunck out of the week…last week it was 4+ hours…this week, almost 4 hours…GEEZ

  • I am still hanging on to LOST but only by a thread.  I’m with you on this one, Daniel.

  • ^^YES!!!!!
    I’m glad someone is…

  • I’m with Mike.  Sorry Daniel.  I laughed a lot, and it was nice.  Don’t call me mean names.  You know you have to hang in there until we see Jack and Kate in the same frame again.  I know, I know, the last 2 minutes were Captain Obvious, I will give you that one.  But I’m still all in.

And hey, I’m proud of you for cutting AI.  Singers are a dime a dozen, and it’s getting really old.

  • Did LOST jump the shark when Mr. Eko died? After thinking about it, that’s the point I come back to where it seems to go all downhill from there…

Revisionist history from you! You were just a few weeks ago talking about how the return episodes were some of the best yet:

“Lost was great. I like Desmond, and his backstory was intruiging.

    and

“LOST was great. Welcome back-I’m so glad you’re with us again Sawyer, Jack, Kate, and the Others…a fantastic start to the spring season. I loved it.”

  • who will win American Idol?  I have to watch Survivor so I don’t eve know who was illiminated tonight.  our tv is on the fritz…although we get sound, we only get some channels with clear sound, some come in like total static, and some come in Spanish off and on..sometime spanish..sometime english.  Last night I watched (or listened to while working) LOST on ABC in Spanish.  It’s pretty hilarious.  You should try it.

  • ^^HAHA!
    Lost en espanol!?
That would be a little weird…

  • I liked Lost. It was nice to laugh for once. And Sawyer was especially cute, which is good enough for me. Amen. And Amen.

Ooh, I think I do get a bonus! Wait, no. When you got hired I got money. Now that you’ve been here a year I think I get a watch. Or a desk clock. Or something else lame. Do you think I can convince them to buy me a Dwight bobblehead instead?

  • ^^Now THAT would be a bonus!
