  • Yes, I want to go see Superman Returns again. ASAP. It's pretty much all I've been able to think about...but perhaps that's because I've been running the soundtrack non-stop in my office--which in turn, runs the movie in my mind as I'm listening. It's my own fault...
    I suppose I'm a little more of a fanboy about Superman than most. I did grow up watching the movies (although, I'm pretty sure I had nightmares after Superman III)--I even have a pretty clear and vivid memory of riding in the back of my dad's brown Toyota truck coming back from seeing Superman IV in the theatres in 1987. Yeah, that was almost twenty years ago. I think I also saw Star Trek V in the theatres a couple of years after that...so I've been looking up to The Man of Steel for decades. He really is the best superhero...just think about it. Even Jerry Seinfeld loves Superman, and for that, I love Jerry Seinfeld even more.

    On a not-so-lighter note, our hearing date for Noah was set for July 10th. Now, as good as this might sound, because it is a week from Monday, it is very very bad.  I contacted our advocate (lawyer) today about it, and she said that even if she didn't sleep between now and then, there is no way she could be prepared for that hearing. Making things trickier, if we ask for a continuance--postponing the hearing--there is no way to know how long they would postpone it for. Noah turns 3 in September, and we have to have this figured out by then. Even worse, they may not take VISA at the lawyers office...uh-oh.
    However, there are several possibilities. The lawyer said if they can't do a short continuance, we can always withdraw and re-apply. OK. Whatever you say...

    EDIT ADD: yeah, they definately don't take VISA.

    Pirates tonight, San Diego on Saturday (Congrats Mel & Chris!), and all next week I'm playing synth for Beaty & the Beast in Baldwin Park. A sweet gig. Christy will have some free time on her hands since I'll be rehearsing/performing pretty much every night and all day Saturday and Sunday. Give her a call! Go hang out! She'd love it! Right dear?

  • I don't like super heroes. Never have. I would consider seeing Superman only since it's new but I think I'll wait till it comes out on video to give it a try. Spiderman, Superman, XMen, any and all super heroes... just don't appeal to me at all... don't know why.

  • This is a bit of advice that you may not like, but just remember that I am your friend and Tom and I love you and Christy. 

    Keep turning to God to meet your needs, not to the Almighty visa. 

    I thank the Lord that your lawyer did not accept visa.  It may not seem right now to be the blessing that it is.   There are a lot of good and very worthy reasons to go into debt, but there are also some heavy consequences.  Maybe the denial is God saying no to this particular path right now. Maybe He wants even bigger faith.  I do not know and I am not trying to tell you what to do.  But, I am praying earnestly for you all.  Most advice is worth what it costs, but you decide with God what step is next.  We love ya! 

  • RYC: I can't remember a song you picked that I didn't like.  OK, maybe one that wasn't my favorite, but there was nothing wrong with it.  :o )  I love almost all the music at Midway.

    I remember seeing Superman movies w/Christopher Reeve & Margot Kidder.  Not sure how many there were.  I always liked the TV show, The Adventures of Lois and Clark, though.  Maybe it's more about the personalities & chemistry between the actors to me.  I thought Kevin Spacey was great as Lex.  He was a real nut job.  Didn't care for the girl who played Lois.  That role didn't seem to be right for her.
