  • EDIT ADD: WooooooaaaaaaH! Just got home to West Covina from San Diego and found that my awesome sister sent us a HUGE check and said it was a gift, not a loan...wow! I'm totally speechless--and perhaps going to cry...
    Thanks, sis.
    -------------------------------------------
    Chris and Melody are engaged
, and it's totally cute! Yes, I said cute...sorry. Anyway-I love to see the love! They are totally excited and Melody already went dress shopping a little bit today (shhh-don't tell her mom or Becky). They were also totally planning all kinds of stuff today and they only got engaged on Friday---AHHH to be young again...HA!

In other news: Chris Marsden is playing trumpet for us Sunday morning and I love it! Frank couldn't be here 'cause he was going to a wedding, but we HAVE to have a rockin trumpet player for Hosanna and he rocked it today at the rehearsal! I love having my great bud play with us--I only wish he could do it more! OH WAIT-my last day at Midway is Feb 12th, so I guess that doesn't matter anyway. By the way-great job to the rest of the orchestra as well, we really played well today!

So, songs for Feb 12th to do at Midway before leaving...I think I'll sing MY PASSION from the Alive Forever album (side note: I love Travis Cottrell!). I think I might also sing LORD HAVE MERCY (arr. Clydesdale) with the choir & orchestra. Plus, Tim Lamar already requested IN CHRIST ALONE, which I would probably do anyways, and I'll probably do a few other favorites for worship. It will be exciting!

In OTHER news: Nertz game tonight at the Codallos' house. Those present: Me, Christy, Chris and Melody, Heidi M, and Beverly. This was Heidi's first time with us and she was nervous to play with us with all the talk we do about it. She did good, but nevertheless, I rocked the Nertz house in SD again! Here are the scores:

    Daniel: 117
    Christy: 61
    Heidi: 60
    Melody: 15
    Chris: 4
    Beverly: -95

Good effort Bev! You did better than most who play for the first time! We may have to do a big Nertz-a-thon on our last weekend or something. We'll invite all the people we've taught to play Nertz while in SD. It would be like forty people...maybe ninety, or like, eleventy ka-zillion!

In some additional news: I have a phone interview with a credit union on Monday, and a coffee appointment with a pastor of a church plant in Ontario on Monday or Tuesday. Pretty exciting. I seriously have very few prospects, so God's REALLY going to have to do some miracles here soon. Please Lord! Help!

I would love your guys' prayers. Obviously God's timing is not my timing. I know that. It doesn't make it any easier.

Time in San Diego this weekend has been extremely fun! A wonderful break from the stress of the job search...

Oh yeah--P.S. Mike's on a date tonight (gasp!). I can't wait to hear about it...

  • Just wanted to point out a few things:

    1) Not nervous. I never said nervous. I may have used the word anxious, and the only reason for my anxiety was that I did not know what to expect from the SD Nertzers.

    2) I had to adapt to several of your lame-o rules, so my score would have been higher if I had been playing the right... err... my way.

    3) Congratulations on your win, but come and play with the Azusa crowd sometime. I predict your winning streak will end.

And my name is Heidi. Not Heodi.

  • pointing out a FEW MORE THINGS!!!!!!!!!

you wrote "nevertheles".  I hope you know it's pronounced "never-theelz".  just saying is all. I"m the pronunciation police.

also... why are you calling her Heidi M?  you know it's Heidi Simone. (" i hate you" says heidi to me right now)

one more thing: YOU ARE A FREAKO for posting that Mike went on a date. you should be on xanga restriction.

and can my ring not fall off anymore?  it did just like 5 mins ago and I freaked out again!!!!!NOOOOOOOOOOO!

  • Wow, yay for Mikie!!

  • Wow, a Nertz with game with everyone would be OUT OF CONTROL!!  I think I would like to see that one...lol!   Wow, Feb. 12th...so soon!  Well, you know you guys are always welcomed...praying for you dude!

  • Dunno. You be the judge...

  • "In Christ Alone" is one of my all time favorites.. not so much because of the tune but because of the words. LOve the words of that song, they make me want to shout! Great music today at church, by the way. The whole service I thought went really well for W.O.W. I'm lifting you guys up and know God will show himself mighty in every area of need.

  • You're just a big mouth blogger is what you are...

  • Can I have my $5 back? (Joking, joking...)

Thanks again SO MUCH for driving me back from SD last night... it was great to chat it up with you and Christy. Tell Nathaniel I'm sorry I took his seat in the car, but not too sorry because I had his wonderful tape blasting in my ear most of the ride. ("Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear" is officially my least favorite song of all time.) Oh, and you're evil, because let's just talk about the food that was eaten yesterday: Olive Garden (breadsticks) and P&O's (more breadsicks.)

Fa la, fal la, Tonner Canyon.

  • Even though you're a blog big-mouth, I'm helping you out. I'm on Barbara Johnson to come back to choir for the last two weeks. I think it's working...

  • So I'm bummed I never had time to make it to a Nertz night.  I am a very good card player & very competitive, and now I'll never be able to embarass myself by losing to you by some huge margin.  And I love it that you're a blog big-mouth.  :o )
