    EDIT ADD:
Jan 14ths episode of SNL was the worst I've seen since the 90's. Yuck. Not even funny. I may have laughed once. It was like all the writers went on strike and they decided to do the show anyway. Scarlett J. was great, she had some really great accents and was a fantastic comedy actor, it was just an incredibly bad show. Poor girl. I don't know how else to explain it...

Back in LA. San Diego was fun this weekend, and we got to meet and (I, not Christy so much) spend time with Aaron C. Turner. He's a great guy! I really like him, and from time that we've been able to talk and share vision and thoughts on ministry, he seems like a really good fit for Midway. I give him two thumbs up! Yes, he's different than me-duh! (Who isn't? I'm a freak!) It was a GOOD different, though. He got some things out of the choir and orchestra that I've never been able to get out of them, and he was a very passionate worshipper and director.
I think his love for the Lord and his passion for worship and music could bring a fantastic new element to Midway and the worship ministry--an element that is desperately needed and that I haven't provided. He is truly singing and worshipping from the bottom of his heart, whether through Amazing Love, or the choir song-Draw Me Nearer...it was cool to see another very competent person and not have to worry about whether or not the rehearsal was going to go well-it was clear-he knew his stuff! Kudos for a talented guy!
    Be praying Midway!

Watched the new 24 last night. I only had to stay up 'til about 2AM to finish it, though. (I had to borrow it from Mike and wait 'til he was done taping it...) This season looks awesome! Go Jack! Jack is back!

Had dinner at an awesome Italian restaurant in Hillcrest--Arrivederci--it was tasty! It was also SOO sweet of our friends Chris and Erica to hang out with us and buy us dinner. It was such a fun time! We really miss you guys! Let's do it more often, and we'll buy next time! Love ya!

Heidi- wanna come play horn this Sunday? Got a big solo for ya...

    Really. Like what?

  • ^^^^ in response to mike's comment, he got fullness and feeling out of the choir...not necessarily that Daniel hasn't been able to get, but Aaron C. did it the second or third time we stopped to fix something.  and I'm not saying that to defend daniel's observation, I actually had it on my own.  He got a different sound.....not always.....but sometimes......  I think he could go with that......

    >>>Yes, he's different than me-duh! (Who isn't? I'm a freak!)    .........and a truer word was never spoken.

    >>>>Heidi- wanna come play horn this Sunday?................she totally does.  she just doesn't know it yet..........:) please, heid?

Ehh. I really didn't think it was anything Dan hadn't done before with us. But ok.

  • R.I.P. David Palmer!!!!!  Sad...can't wait for tonight's episode!!!

  • I would love to. But unfortunately, I can't. I'll be in San Jose this weekend for a wedding.

Although it was quite a tempting offer, for these reasons:
    1) I happen to love that hymn. A lot.
    2) I happen to like San Diego. A lot.
    3) I want to see Melody. And Chris. And the kits. And all the fun people I met at Christmastime.
    4) The french horn part is pretty sweet, and I am a fan of pretty sweet french horn parts. Argh I would loooooooooove to play that solo! Dang.

  • Am I crazy or does your comment not make sense? Of course that's a nickname for Starbucks.

  • Hey you!!! He could not have pulled anything out of us if you hadn't put it there in the first place.!!!!!!! And listen Mister Man!!!!! All we did here before you came was sing. YOU taught us how to worship, YOU lead us into His presents, YOU made ALL the difference.( With Gods help of course)Was he good? Why yes, it seemed  so. But don't sell yourself short my friend..... YOU made us a worship team, not just a choir! YOU imprinted our hearts and changed our lives forever. You ROCK you FREAK!

  • I agree with you, Aaron C. Turner seems to be a very passionate and competent person.  I just hope he'll have a little of your great sense of humor.  All work and no play aint much fun:)
