  • Jack Black hosted SNL last night, and I gotta say that he is SO talented. Now, I'm not a huge Jack Black fan or anything, it's not like I've really even seen him in any movies (except King Kong and maybe a couple of others) but he is a freaking good song writer! He wrote this song called "King Kong" for his monologue and it was just so good--musically, and for entertainment value. Wow. Such a talent for songwriting, which I respect because I cannot write a song to save my life...Ok, I wrote one song that was good, called "My Time Machine". It was for a Theory I project and it was a HUGE hit. I mean, we sang it for MONTHS in Male Chorale...those guys loved it.

What was it about, you ask? The Delorean from Back to the Future. Yes. We were supposed to write a love song, and I wrote about my favorite time machine...it was awesome...good times, good times...

anyways-I'm no Jack Black--so I REALLY respect his ability to write a tune. Good work, crazy Jack!

  • You sang a Theory I project in MC? Just for fun, or in performance? I remember a guy whose chorale project was called "The Reaper Cometh". We didn't sing it for months to come, but the name fit the sound perfectly.

  • Only six shopping days til HOLIDAY!!!!!

  • Sorry I missed choir today...it was unavoidable =(

  • My favorite Theory project (well, I never heard it, but I heard OF it) was for Glenn Austin's Theory I class. He used to get so mad (well, as mad as Glenn Austin, the sweetest man ever, can get) when people slammed the door, popped their gum, squeaked the risers, etc, so someone wrote a percussion piece using only the sounds that annoyed Glenn. I believe it was called "Glenn's Nightmare".

  • Oh yeah, Jack Black is an AMAZING writer and performer of music!  Check out his band, "Tenacious D"...a little vulgur some of it, but not all.

Speaking of Theory 1 projects, my "favorite" part was being like the only piano player and having to play everyone's horribly hand-manuscripted projects, and then having them say, "that's not how it goes!"  Like hello!  Learn how to notate, people!  :)
