  • MORE EDIT ADD:
    I can't believe the end of The Apprentice! Trump was about to hire them both and Randal totally took that away from Rebecca! What a selfish jerk! I can't believe that happened! It would have been perfect for them both to be hired!!

    EDIT ADD:
    I just saw a trailer for LADY IN THE WATER, M. Night Shyamalan's new film. I am so happy he's coming out with a new one. I LOVE Shyamalan, and I can't get enough of his work...can't wait. Check out the trailer in iTunes or here.
    =============

    OK- I just read on Marshall's blog that John Wallace (President of APU) has cancer. This is devastating. The last president right before him lost his wife to cancer after a long battle, and it was heart wrenching for everyone. John Wallace is a GREAT man of God who has incredible vision and incredible leadership. I would hate to see him go. I am most definitely praying for him. No actual word to what degree or what kind of cancer he has, so I'll wait to hear more. So sad...be praying...

    I took a sick day on Wed. It was much needed. I was going to go in for part of the day and lead worship on Wednesday night, but I just couldn't. I let Jorge take the reigns for worship that night, and here's a snippet of an email I got back from Ross about the evening:

    ====
    "I just wanted to let you know what a blessing it was to watch God through Jorge tonight. He did awesome. It was obvious many people were touched, myself included."
    ====

    Wow. That's awesome! I am so glad to hear that God used Jorge, or I guess more accurately, that Jorge surrendered himself to God to be used. It makes my little heart happy! I knew Jorge could handle it, like he has before and will continue to do during the interim after I'm gone (or only at Midway on the weekends), but it's cool to hear that people were touched. Awesome. Thanks for that email Ross!

    Oh yeah, on a side note, Ross is the awesomest person you'll ever meet. I've met a lot of people and served alongside hundreds of individuals, but I've never met someone with such servanthood as Ross. He is one of the most capable and talented people you'll meet, and probably the meekest. What a heart for God he has! I love that guy! Ross-I'm going to miss you so much!

    Ok- enough mushy stuff...back to work today. I think one of the reasons I'm not deathly ill and have been able to fight this off is due to my vitamin skills, and my Jamba Juice skills. Not to mention my vegetable skills and blueberry skills. I've been really loading up on healthy stuff during this sicky time, and I think it has helped.

  • Amen to Ross! By the way, we have dibs on Ross is we ever get famous and need a traveling posse.

  • Posse? ltms. The Semsen family posse...

  • Ross is the bomb biggety for sure.

    As for my family, well, the good outweighs the bad, but when you have a large family there is always "that two people" that don't get along.

  • Jorge is such a great guy...yay for Jorge...thanks man!

    Ross is the bomb Diggity for sure...and you should get some health pointers from him...he's good!

    Though I do not know John Wallace (President of APU), I will in fact be praying for him and his family....cancer SUCKS!

  • Oh ye of little Tivo knowledge. You don't have to pay the subscription fee (like 413 a month) to use Tivo. The subscription lets you do cool things like call your unit when you're not at home and have it record things, or set up a season pass to record every episode of a certain show, or have it look for shows you might like based on what you watch. Cool features, but I'm so not paying $13 a month for them! You just have to tell it when to record what. Simple.

    But I still love technology...

  • You don't even need cable to use Tivo, you can just use it with normal TV with an antenna. Or with satellite, or cable, or whatever. Without subscribing to it, it's literally just a digital video recorder. You tell it when to record and it records. You just get all the neat bells and whistles if you subscribe to Tivo service. But if you've already got a DVR through your cable company, just stick with that. A name brand Tivo is no better than whatever DVR they give you unless you get the service.

    Ooh, or unless you get the Tivo/DVD recorder unit. Which I would have gotten, but I already have a DVD recorder.

  • actually, though TiVo has the cache, a typical DVR is better since Tivo can't record two programs simultaneously.

  • Don't listen to Mike. He don't know.

    That's not true. It's me who doesn't know. You really can't record 2 things at once, Mr. Janke?

  • Ross totally ROCKS!  (I hope that "ROCKS" isn't totally "last year")  Cause he does!!

  • I would just like to point out that Daniel correctly spelled (and can probably pronounce) M. Knight's last name. GEEK! But the movie preview does intrigue me.

  • ^ I would just like to point out that Melsmells just misspelled M. Night's name. :)

  • And by the way, I think it's funny that you ended the voice mail you left me with "... you can read about it later." Ah, how blogs have changed our lives.

    Who leaves their cell phone on at work? What am I, a drug dealer?

    Have fun at King Kong. It looks lame. I think I'm going to see Syriana tomorrow. Or maybe Rent. Or maybe The Family Stone. Or maybe Walk The Line. Or maybe whatever is playing when I show up at the theater. You can read about it later. HA!

  • ok, it wasn't me who misspelled the name.  for real.  it was Chris.  I forgot that we were on my account, and I was showing him HOW TO LEAVE COMMENTS because he's so behind the times...  I mean, he got a blog and he didnt' know how to leave comments!  soooooo then he got engrossed in whoever was writing about Lady in the Water and just commented....using my name!  I'm kind of crazy about people misspelling things and pretending it's me.  so forgive the insanity.
