  • EDIT ADD: So Christy just got back from Noah’s 2 year check-up and the Doctor says that there is a POSSIBILITY that Noah is Autistic. Hmph. I don’t think so, but Christy is a little bit freaked out. Please be praying. We love our son SOOOO much, and who cares if he is autistic or not, but I guess it’s a pretty big deal as far as life goes…if you know what I mean. Mostly, though-be praying for Christy–and for Noah to talk more…
    =============

    Wow- Mike wrote some really nice things about me in his entry. Thanks man. You’re the best. And only slightly better than me at NERTZ.

    btw- for all you that are scratching your head about NERTZ, and wondering what it is that we are all blabbing on and on about, you are welcome to join us at any time. The next game in on Friday, Sept 30th, right after Noah’s birthday party–about 8PM. C’mon over and learn-but beware, I’ll kick your butt!!

    So we went to Plaza Bonita mall the other day, and Nathaniel saw “the old Super Mario”, which was one of those all-in-one joystick controllers that has 75 games on it without any control system…it was in a kiosk–you know what I mean? Anyway-he had played it before and wanted me to play it with him AND I DID! It was so fun-the original Super Mario Brothers from the original NES. We played for about 20 minutes and I got pretty far-so we left and I was inspired to try and find my Super NES at home and hook it up to play “the old Super Mario” (Super Mario All Stars). AND I FOUND IT!! Everything but the AC/DC power adapter. Bummer! So I called around and the only place that had it was Radio Shack. $19 bucks later I went home and hooked it up. Nathaniel was literally jumping up and down with excitement. One problem, it didn’t work. I plugged it in and turned it on, but the little red light didn’t go on…there was no power. Nathaniel ran to find mommy, and she told him to pray. So there is Nathaniel praying his little tooshie off about the Nintendo “God we love you so much! Help mario to work, please!” It was precious. But, unfortunately-mario STILL did not work. So Nathaniel asked why God didn’t fix it (didn’t anticipate THAT one). Yikes! Faith crisis! I think we told him maybe God wanted us to play the new mario instead…wow.

    But, still. Help! I need a power adapter for the SNES!!!!

  • What? Is this the same retarded doctor that said Nathaniel was overweight? What a bunch of morons. Just cause he does’t feel like talking doesn’t mean he’s autistic. That just makes me angry.

  • I’m NOT freaking out, thank you very much. I am very happy that finally we’re able to get Noah evaluated by professionals so all of my friends and me are trying to diagnose him ourselves! And Dr. Bean is wonderful- those other lame people were the WIC workers—Dr. Bean is the one that supported us when Noah was in the hospital at 10 days old…and when he had that absess cut of his butt…poor little guy.

  •      Are you sure he didn’t as :ARTistic?  You know how talented your boys are. I have only been around three truely Autistic children in my life, and trust me when I say that Noah is NOTHING like them. Yes he has’nt DECIDED to carring on a conversation yet, but then I have also known lots and lots of children who didn’t talk until they were almost three.He is in Gods hands and with such a powerful prayer warrior like Nathaniel praying for him and with the added prayers of the MPC and small groups…prayerfully everything will turn out all right.

    I think my son has an extra adapter, he just shoved everything into a box when we moved so I think I might be able to find it… not sure but I’ll try. He has every game box ever invented since Pong… spoiled bratt!!!! But I’ll see what I can do.

    And Mike speaks the truth… your awsome!

  • The boys are wonderful. We will be praying and i know that God is going to use those boys in amazing ways. I love you all.

  • NOAH IS NOT AUTISTIC. Ok? I would be willing to bet my life on that. He’s taking his own time to do what he wants to do. He’ll talk when he’s good and ready. Kids (especially boys) often don’t talk until later. I know a couple who are three hat don’t talk AT ALL, except for Mama and Dada. Noah has his own timeline and one consolation can be that nobody will ever push that kid to do aything he doesn’t want to do! I’ll be praying for him, and for your guys… it is a scary thought, but he isn’t like an autistic child at all.

  • I think God’s an Atari fan, actually. You might be on your own for the SNES deal

  • The arrangement/orchestration hasn’t even been formatted for printing yet, so you’ll have to wait a bit. I’ll have to ask around to see about distribution…

  • Daniel- I just wanted to tell you how much I love the picture you are using on your site right now- it makes me laugh and I’m glad I got to watch that particular movie with you. In fact just last week, Melody was over at Shan’s and she was asking me about what I did at the church and I actually used my favorite line on her,”Melody, I’m not sure if you know this yet, but I’m kind of a big deal.” I loved it- I laughed. Have a great week

  • You know… there is such a WIDE RANGE of Autism – that’s why it’s techincally referred to as the “Autism Spectrum Disorder” (I believe that’s what it’s called).  People still think of Autistic as people like “rainman” but in actuality we probably ALL know people who seem “normal” who actually would fall someplace on that spectrum.  Really, it’s just like any learning disabilty a child could be diagnosed with.  It means he processes information differently, and may need some help along the way getting things to work out right, but doesn’t mean he’s “slow” or “different”.  I have 2 cousins who are both on the Autistic Spectrum.  One has a lot of social difficulties and is very inappropiate at times, and has lots of difficulties learning things.  The other one is BRILLIANT and really his only “issue” is that he’s not real fond of changes in his schedule, but other than that, he’s “normal”.  All that to say, don’t stress out about this!!!!!!

  • This “We Three Kings” really is good. I look forward to singing it in choir.
