  • That was a fantastic choir practice!! Thank you MPC for the hard work. I have to tell you-it's all God. I'm not doing anything different-I don't think--well, even if I was, it's still all God. I also want to acknowledge the hard work and sacrifice that you all are putting in as well! Thank you for being there! Zig Ziglar says that %95 of success is just showing up--so we succeeded tonight! (I think the other %5 percent is attributed to hard work and competence and stuff like that, qualities which you all possess, making us quite "successful"). Thanks for your sacrifice in being there, and for your active service to the Lord. I can tell it is tough. I can see people coming in with heavy burdens, and I know that it is difficult to show up, so thank you. I just want you to know that I'm grateful.

MPC- I encourage you to listen to your Xmas CD's. They will help you, and that is good.

As many of you may know, Christy is teaching about 95 min/day at Midway. She has a high school class and elementary music (a different grade every day). She is doing great! But we worked out a system where I come home with the kids and take my lunch break and an additional hour off work every day from 1-3 PM so we don't have to do the childcare thing. (I make up the time on Monday mornings, which I previously had off). Well today I decided that instead of composing or doing something else with the time I had at home after lunch, that I would use the time to pray and seek God's will for the Worship and Creative Arts Ministry at church. It was quite cool. I've never really spent a LOT of time alone in prayer (kids were napping by then). I really think it had a profound impact on tonight's choir practice, and I feel great about it. So I will continue on!! More praying!

I'm really looking forward to this Sunday. Yahoo!

On a side note, Survivor starts this Thursday. Wow. Fall TV is already here. I already set the DVR to tape it. Yay for technology.

  • Glad to know someone will be taping it!!  I still LOVE Survivor!  I need to learn more about this DVR!

  • Yippee skippee for survivor!

  • ...but still I love technology, always and forever.

  • Hey Daniel.

My name is from a show I used to watch called Dragonball Z.....I watched it from like 8th grade to 10th and I made a screen name and everything from it........now I wish I hadnt cause I dont care much for the show anymore. I would change it but then I would have to let everyone know that already has this name......so yea......thats it.

    See ya tonight.

  • I sat in the back and listened alittle during choir practice last night. The tone of the choir is sounding good.

  • I would normally jump at the chance to borrow Season 3 of Roswell from you, but seeing as how I only have one disc left, and I live in Pasadena, it's probably not such a good idea.   :)   Plus, I looked online for the synopses for the last two episodes...  So I'm not dying of suspense.  Not sure if that's a good thing or not, but whatever.  ;)   Thanks for the comment!

  • Yup, kindergarten.  Crazy kids.  Your son looks cute but when there are are more than 13 it wears you out really fast!  Looks like your wife teaches elementary music too (yes?).  Maybe she has some tips for me and my first year teaching.  Gah!  It is so draining and with doing grad classes, whew!

  • Yes indeed, the X-Files has left a gaping hole in the TV lineup that is not easily filled, gotta agree with you. In fact, I'm working on finishing the Season 3 DVDs in my spare time; what are your favorite episodes that you've seen?? Welp, have a great great day: see you around the Internet.

  • Been staying home all week with Kenny who has been batteling walking pneumonia.  He's doing really good, but tends to jump around more than he should.  To keep him still I tried to rent all the Star Wars movies but they were all out!  I think someone is just hanging onto them because the place is so lenient about paying the late fees.  I'm going to go over there again today and see if they have it in.

Survivor is Mavellous!  I love it and our whole family gets into it.  It's sort of a bonding experince. I like it and the Amazing Race.

Choir is the most uplifting "small group" I belong to.  I love it and without it I don't know how I would make it through the week.  Thanks Daniel for seeking God in this ministry and "immediately" following him.  We have such a great group and there are so many new wonderful voices.  Also, the new pianist.  She's wonderful!

How lucky are those kids who get to have Christy teach them this year!  God Rocks!

  • Sorry Daniel, don't know how I got two comments in there.   Oops!  I'm a technochallengedorc

  • Wow, you have all 9 seasons on DVD??? *jaw drops* I am working slowly towards that goal, but I am a long way from reaching it. Yes indeed, the black oil and the Cigarette Smoking Man made the X-Files a great mystery: I especially enjoy the episodes "Tunguska" and "Terma", when Alex Krycek comes back and Mulder travels to Russia with him. Awesome stuff...

  • Hey, heard you had a gig for me?  YES!  Call me 7148145522

  • Wow Daniel!!!! It looks like you are getting as many comments as Mike.... :)

  • Hmm, again, if you didn't live in San Diego, I might try to steal X-Files from you.  :)   I was always a trekkie, and didn't want to get started on another show that I would become obsessed with.  Now, however, I am willing to obsess.  Yeah, I know I'm a bad person to read the synopsis of the Roswell episodes, but I didn't know how long it was going to take for my sister to get the next disc!!!  And it was a really bad cliffhanger...  I was weak.  :P
