  • Dudes-
    I got a GREAT Entertainment Weekly yesterday. It was the Summer Movie Preview--it had some fantastic info on over 130 movies coming out this summer. I got excited about several ones I've been looking forward to, (i.e. Star Wars, Batman Begins, War of the Worlds, to name a few). If you don't know, Summer movie-going makes up %40 of revenue for the entire year for movie-makers, so summer movies are always the biggest and best! (exception for LOTR, and a couple of others...). Well, anyway, reading the magazine was delightful!

    Worship team auditions were a success! I'm happy to see what will happen with this team of vocalists. It will be fun!!!

    This Praise Adonai song is pretty catchy-especially the chorus...

    Look at this beautiful picture that is painted in Psalm 85:

    I thought that was a unique visual image that I haven't found much elsewhere in the Bible...

    I took a survey of the current favorite worship songs in the Midway Praise Choir. I asked to list their top five favorites, in no particular order. I tallied (ok, Christy tallied) the votes, and here are the top results, again, with no order, just simply tallied by the number of people that put it on their list:

    #1 - In Christ Alone (11 votes)
    #2 - Sing to the King (10)
    #3 - How Great is Our God (9)
    #4 - Here I Am to Worship (8)
    #5 - All About Love, Above All, Pour My Love on You, and Blessed Be Your Name (4-way tie with 7 votes each)
    #6 - You Are Holy, Agnus Dei, and You Are Good (6 each)
    #7 - My Redeemer Lives, Let My Words Be Few, and Only A God Like You (5 each)
    #8 - Days of Elijah, Calling Out to You, We Fall Down, Trading My Sorrows, Word of God Speak (4 each)

    and there were several more with three or less votes. Good job folks, thanks for the feedback. I was a little disturbed when I found out that none of the songs on this list were on the worship set for this past Sunday...hmmm....

  • Exciting things are always afoot with our fearless worship leaders!  Daniel and Christy rock!

    Top ten, they're all terrific but....woah, recount!  What about BREATHE?  Isn't that the best, especially when the one on the Michael W. Smith CD where that guy (Australian?) reads from Psalms and the imagery of God with thunder and lightening all powerful and awesome is overwhelming!   You can feel the 2nd coming!   Don't you hear the heavenly choir join in on that one when you're listening to it?  I sure do!  CHILL CITY, GOOSEBUMPS!
