John 13:1-17 is the time when Jesus washes his disciples' feet. What an amazing picture of servanthood. I have read this story several times, seen it in movies and plays, etc...but something connected today. I have actually had my feet washed before at various retreats, or somilar places. The experience depended on the condition of my heart...one of the most powerful and mind-blowing experiences I had was at a worship retreat we had at our last church. There were only about 12 or 14 people there. We spent a lot of time in prayer, song, and doing activities like foot-washing...I wasn't very outwardly expressive about how much I liked it at the time, but whenever I reflect on it now, it is one of the more unique and personal encounters with God that I have ever had. Thanks, Michael-you're cool.
I am excited about the Midway Praise Choir! I think maybe people are still wrapping up their summers, but I have some cool stuff planned, and I feel like we are even more on-target with our vision than ever before. Yahoo! We are singing "Be Still and Know" this Sunday.
Christy and I are moving out! (Mama, if that's moving up, then I'm....moving out!) Our landlords are selling out place, so we need to hit the road! We found a nice little place only a couple of miles from here, and we are trying to raise $ for the security deposit and such so we can move in. You should check out my auctions on ebay...I'm selling a big lot of DVD's here.
Once you bid on the DVD's, check out my other auctions (there's a link for See Seller's Other Items on the page near the top). We put a couple of other things on there...watch out Star Trek fans! And check back for more...
