There is Only One, True, Les Miserables
For some reason I went searching in my iTunes for Les Miserables. I found some paltry, sad version of the musical…and it wasn’t jivin.
You see, in high school I used to listen to this thing day in and DAY OUT. The kids in my school drove into the parking lot blasting rock or country, and what was I blasting for all the world to hear?
LES MIS.
Oh yeah…and I can probably still sing the entire 3-disc musical from top to bottom. Sooooo…you can imagine my dismay when I went on my iTunes and found some weird synth-version of the show. Yuck.
So I quickly went to the iTunes music store and found the Original Symphonic Complete Recording (or whatever) that I had in High School. I started that sucker up and as SOON as Jean ValJean started singing…goosebumps everywhere…and floods of memories that came back to me right in that moment.
It was crazy-weird.
Music is pretty powerful stuff, eh?
Well–all that to say–if you ever need to get a copy of Les Mis–GET THIS ONE.
BOOM.only 13.99 on iTunes for the whole thing–all 44 tracks of glory and goodness.

All The Right People Won (Oscar Blog!)
As far as I am concerned, the Oscars were a success.
Wait, WHAT??!!?!
No…I’m not obsessed with Sandra Bullock AT ALL.
She totally deserves her Oscar for Best Actress in The Proposal. I just wish they had nominated Ryan Reynolds as well.Other awards about which I had an opinion:
BEST DIRECTOR: Some say James Cameron should have won (*cough*Janke*cough*), and although I was voting for Up in the Air, let’s just say that as long as Jim Cameron lost, I was going to be OK with it.
BEST PICTURE: Again, I’m anti-Avatar in this category. And look here–I don’t hate Avatar–I really liked it. I saw it twice, once opening weekend at 11:45PM on a Sunday night, and once with my wife–BOTH times in 3D–and it was really, really cool, just not Best-Pic-winner-cool. I liked it in the same way that I liked Iron Man and Star Trek–all great, entertaining movies, but not Oscar winners. James Cameron has all the money in the world–can’t he just be happy with that and forget about little ole Oscar?
BEST ANIMATED PICTURE:
I have two words:
Up.BEST SCORE: Michael Giacchino is the bomb. The score for UP was brilliant (and so was Star Trek…and the Incredibles and EVERYTHING he does). And Michael, if you’re reading this, YES, I’m available to orchestrate your next film…or an episode of LOST…or HECK, how about Fringe? I’m just saying, I’m available.
Any of you have strong opinions about the results? Or about how awkward Miley Cyrus and the rest of the tweens were up there last night? That Twilight girl looked like she was going to pass out (ahem) right in the middle (ahem) of her only line in the show (ahem).
Oh yes…and lastly…me likey Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin.

My Son Has Autism (The Continuing Saga)
My Son, Noah, has Autism…
Right now he is 6.5 years old, in a regular 1st grade classroom at a public school, and HE. LOVES. CHILI-MAC!!!
Check out this bad boy’s writing…he did this in school on an exam. I think the question had to do with writing about your favorite thing…
He is right…it IS so delicious.
Can you tell I’m a proud dad?
(ps…there are a FEW more ingredients to chili-mac…you can check them out here. Though, we use ground turkey and gluten free noodles so we can all eat it).
