My Sons Are Cooler Than Yours…neener neener neener
Is anyone else bored with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?
It seems to be severely lacking this season…anyone else feeling it?
So Nathaniel is reading the original Hardy Boys books.
He is 7 years old.
These books are aimed at 10-14 year-olds.Um. Yeah. He’s awesome.
He has read three of the books (they’re over a hundred pages each) in the past month or so and likes them a lot…buuuuuuuuuuut he’s not so good at math. He’s behind in his class in that area, but kicks all of their butts at reading.
We’re working on it…we’ve got his math flash cards and I’m making him play math computer games to build up his speed and stuff. Let me know if you know of any great math game websites for second graders…SIDE NOTE: We have a bunch of the original Hardy Boys books–the hardback ones–but are also missing a bunch of them. They’re all numbered and in order, so if you happen to have any that you want to dump off somewhere, let me know. We have sporadic numbers ranging 1-50 or so…for instance, we own # 1, 2, 6, 8, and 9…but don’t have 3, 4, 5 or 7…and this goes on and on. Just drop me a line if you gots some!!!
Noah is also doing well in school. We do his homework with him and he is just adorable to watch while doing it…I wish I could video tape it and put it here…he is just a little angel from heaven.
Awww….I love my family.

I don’t have any Hardy Boys books to get rid of, but the library at La Crescenta First Baptist Church has a pretty decent collection. (Shameless plug: They also have the largest kids books collection in a private library west of the Rockies or something cool like that.) It’s a private church library, but you don’t have to go to the church to get a library card . . . but they’re only open M-R during business hours… http://www.fbclc.org or 818-249-5832 for more information. (The library has books for homeschoolers, too, so maybe they have some interesting math stuff… That’s just speculation, so don’t quote me on it!)
I love that Nathaniel loves to read. It warms my heart.
As a kid I collected almost the entire Hardy Boys series. I know that they’re still in boxes at my parents house. You’re welcome to borrow them.
I read just about all of the hardy boys series too, and they are still at my folks house. You can borrow whatever you need, but it would require hanging out again sometime… : )
