  • Word that Kevin went home. I predicted Lisa, but at least I was close…by Keving.
Oh yeah, and Lost was great. Not awesome, but great. Next week looks even awesomer…
And I love Yorba Linda Friends Church. Thanks Al for a sweet rehearsal tonight. I’m going to sing ALL GLORY BE TO GOD with them this Sunday…that’s in my top two favorite songs of all time along with The Mind of Christ (not the one from Honor and Praise, but the other Mark Hayes one we did my senior year at APU). I can’t wait.

And yes, we’ll be in SD on Saturday only! Call me if you want to see us, but we’ll be pretty busy running around…

I saw Travis Cottrell again tonight on Idol. He’s the best! Go Travis! Make another album, ’cause that last one (Alive Forever) was cool! Major props!

Oh yeah, also–my office-mate is cool! I must ask her eleventy questions a day, and I’m getting it more and more now…thanks  Erin!

    American Idol
Paula was high on crack or something. Geez. Get a grip. Many great performances this week, but I think my favorite was Katherine’s. Christy thinks she has turned into a supermodel. It is amazing what people can do to you with the right clothes and makeup and all of that stuff. But I agree with Simon, she definitely is a star. I still like Chris and Elliot and I do still think they’ll be in the top 3, although Mandisa is giving them a run for their money.
Speaking of Mandisa, evidently she’s friends with Travis Cottrell, ’cause I got an email from Travis this week telling me he was going to be at the American Idol taping with his wife as part of Mandisa’s family and friends. Lo and behold, there he was! Right in the audience! Wearing his Vote for Mandisa T-Shirt (looks like Vote for Pedro…ya know).

OK, yeah, I looked, and she has been on his worship teams and stuff in the past 5 years or so. Cool. Maybe she sings on Alive Forever.

    Bottom Three:
    Bucky
    Lisa
    Ace

    Going Home:
    Lisa

As much as I think Kevin should go, he’s not going to because people think he’s adorable much like they thought John Stevens was adorable. He’ll be around for awhile. On another note, I agree with Simon about Taylor’s perfomance tonight–totally boring and mediocre. I say he’s # 4 or 5 overall–but NOT going to win like Mike thinks.

    Other:
Blogging is a little bit harder in the past few days. I can’t to do it at work like some people do…he he…(oh yeah, thanks for coffee today) because I’m in my second week and I just don’t feel comfortable getting on my blog at work. Plus everyone and their dog in that office can see my computer display at any moment of the day. I’m self-conscious just checking my email (which is 99% of the time totally work related).

I got a random call back from a church I applied at a while ago. It has sounded more promising than any other church thing I’ve looked at so far up here. The pastor sent over a profile of the type of person they are looking for and it really fits who I am. Please pray for this opportunity. They were thinking more of the full-time route, but I already have a full-time job and he was cool with that. He still wanted to talk simply because he liked my resume and the article from Purpose-Driven that is about me and Midway. I am excited about this as, along with the one other church opportunity we are looking into right now. I think I miss playing piano and being a part of the music/worship experiene in that way…

I’m also playing piano right now for a very unique service at a church nearby. We are in rehearsals, and the music is very interesting. It is basically an entire album of Cindy Morgan’s called The Loving Kind. It is very different and fun to play. The band is good. Fun times.

  • I never said Taylor was going to win. Chris is going to win.

  • I wish we could put five in the bottom rather than three…Is Paris’ voice for real…talking voice that is?!!!

  • Employees are allowed 2 15 minute breaks throughout the day. Feel free to check your e-mail and blog during those times.

And by the way, as long as you’re getting your work done, I don’t think anyone really cares. But I understand the whole being new thing. Get settled in before you follow my bad example.

I didn’t go home TO watch 24, I went home AND watched 24. Big difference.

  • COULDN’T agree more about Paula!! Steve and were talking about it the whole show. Didn’t we go over this last season??

I will be praying about the job!

  • Good luck with the new job! And I want Taylor to win even if Mike doesn’t. Thats all I have to say about that.

  • Hey, I remember a time when you could blogg at work…..and I only do it during lunch….well most of the time anyway :>)

  • wait a minute you and Travis Cottrell are like b.f..f (best friends forever) He e-mails you personally?I had no idea, I had no idea. this is fabulous!

  • You love Travis Cottrell. You’re like his biggest fan. You’re on the Travis Cottrell fad-wagon. You have a WWTD braclet on your wrist.

  • TC (aka Top Cat aka Travis Cottrell)  I didn’t realize he was so young.  I must be mixing him up with Clydsdale (now he must be old right? cause his name does sound old).  Anyway, I was listening to my latest Worship Leader’s CD, and the bonus track has a song that was ARRANGED by one of them  for the choir.  I totally forgot the name of it now, but it’s really good and I kept thinking…Daniel would have this on his next music order for sure!  Ha!  I knew Mandisa was blessed by God because of the classy way she responded to Simon’s comments about her weight after her intial try-out.  Can I get a witness!!!!???!!!!!

I’m praying for you and Christy to get settled in a home church.  I hope your soon to be blog entry will bring the news!

is trav a localyocal or a yoco local?

  • Whatever, Mr Ace predictor.

  • Ten points- no, Ten THOUSAND points if you can tell me the original name of All Glory Be To God- the title before it was published (this is just my way of rubbing in the fact that I knew the song before you did).

Incidentally, both All Glory Be To God and The Mind of Christ were commissioned for the same album (by the Gary Bonner Singers), which came out back in Fall 1999.

This has been another episode of Useless Trivia by sc0tlas.

  • Your office mate IS cool. And she has a myspace. :)

  • Remember the guy who used to do “special orders” for us from the t-shirt place? It turns out that there was some dishonesty there. Oops! The owners finally found out and fired him and they say they lost upwards of $15,000. He was using their products and labor but doing it under the table and collecting himself. I wish we had known but how do you know someone is dishonest? I was careful not to name names on here of who was involved but you knew him.

  • Nice article!!!

  • Glad to see Kevin go.  We’ll really be cooking once Lisa, Paris & Bucky are gone, too.  Not that I don’t like each of them in their own way.  They’re just not gonna win.  Not sure about Taylor, either.  But I would like to see Katharine, Mandisa, Chris, Elliott & Taylor in the top 5.  And as you would say, word.  :o )

So still no home church, huh?
