  • Today is election day. I will be doing my civil duty and voting…not that I really care about it THAT much. I’m not much into politics, but I guess four Supreme Court Judges will be ritiring in the next presidential term–so that will make a big impact.

The bottom line is, you just can’t legislate morality. There is, and has been for a long time, a seperation between church and state. We cannot try to pass more “good Christian” laws. It’s rediculous. Society is going to do what society is going to do. We can only impact those around us with the Love of Christ. WITH LOVE.

Too many Christians mix religion and politics, thinking that it is their mission to elect “Christian governors and officers”, stop speaking out AGAINST things like immorality, and live a life FOR Christ.

The SNL Presidential Bash was only a little funny; they edited the sketches down quite a bit. Bummer. There were a few good moments.

I’m going to see THE INCREDIBLES this Thursday night–@ 12:01 AM (that’s actually Friday). Anyone who wants to go with me is invited. RSVP. I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Halloween was fun. I forgot to charge my camcorder’s battery so I got about 13 seconds of footage…oops. Good thing Mike brought his…he got some great footage of the evening festivities.

Nathaniel dressed up as Spiderman (of course) and we put Noah in this Batman outfit that was hilarious, but he really didn’t want to wear the mask. Christy and I went as Starfleet officers…Christy was a science officer-rank: ensign. I was Chief of Security, rank: Commander. I know–implausable, but I didn’t have any dark pips, only gold pips…so instead of being a Lt. Commander, I had to just be commander. 2 eprops to all Trekkies!!

Jan did a great job with the Family Fun Festival. Things looked organized, and it was great to see our church members serving in that capacity-especially since our church tends to have things be staff-run, instead of volunteer-run. 2 years ago I stayed with Chuck and the youth pastor until midnight cleaning up after that carnival. This year it was a blessing to just have the freedom to be a part of it and to bring my family to it, with no work-related responsibilities.

Mike wimped out of dressing up. He sais “my costume was too big…” sounds like a lame excuse to me!!! No eprops for Mike!
